Tree plantation is part of our commitment to Prakriti Maa: restoring soil, water, air, trees and living habitats. We do not just plant saplings; we adopt them. The Gram Vikas model connects native tree planting with water harvesting, natural farming and local participation so green cover can become a lasting village resource.
We select locally suitable native species and plan watering, protection and monitoring for at least three years. Trees provide shade for people and animals and habitats for birds and bees. By involving village communities and women’s Self-Help Groups, this work links ecological restoration with skills, responsibility and opportunities close to home.
Before planting, we identify open spaces where trees can grow safely for many years. We consider the soil condition, sunlight, water availability, and surrounding structures. A suitable location gives every sapling enough space to spread its roots and branches. This careful planning helps prevent damage and supports healthier growth.
We select saplings that are suitable for the local climate, soil, and surroundings. Each sapling is planted with proper spacing and care so that its roots can settle firmly. Volunteers help prepare the ground and complete the plantation responsibly. A strong beginning increases the possibility of healthy and lasting growth.
Our responsibility continues after the plantation activity is completed. Young saplings require regular watering, healthy soil, and protection from grazing animals and accidental damage. Tree guards or support stakes are arranged wherever needed. Periodic visits help us observe their condition and provide timely care when a sapling requires attention.
